Rosemary (Hannon) Haddock, 82, of Arlington, VA and formerly of Avoca, passed away on Sunday, May 9th at her home in Arlington, VA. She was born in Avoca on April 27, 1939 and was the daughter of the late Albert and Clare (McCarthy) Hannon and also her foster parents who raised her, Clarence and Mary Reed of Avoca.
Rosemary was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Alexandria, VA and Ft. Myer Catholic Community, Ft. Myer, VA. She was a 1958 graduate of Duryea High School. She was employed for many years at Sears department store and retired as a receptionist for a doctor’s office in Virginia. Rosemary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Frank Haddock, Sr., who died September 25, 2013 and her brother Edward Hannon.
She is survived by her son Frank, Jr., “Frankie”, her daughter Lisa Gallimore, grandchildren: Micelle Lock, Matthew Gallimore, and Megan Gallimore, great grandchild Lila Callie, her sister Joan Webb and many nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 10:00am at Queen of The Apostles Parish Church, 715 Hawthorne St., Avoca with Fr. Phillip Sladicka officiating. Interment will be held at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Avoca. Friends may go directly to the church for the mass; their will be no procession from the funeral home.
