Ryan J. Barney

Ryan J. Barney, 29, of Pittston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Scranton, January 24, 1994, and was the son of Christine Craig Wilk and his stepfather James Wilk.

Ryan was a graduate of Pittston Area High School, class of 2012. After graduation, he went on to serve our country with the United States Marine Corp. 

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings Albert Barney, of Fort Lauderdale Florida, Michael Barney, of Portland Maine, Joclyn Wilk of Lehighton, PA, Brandon Mickavicz, of Dallas, PA, James Wilk, of Duryea and Janelle Wilk of Pittston.  Also surviving are his paternal grandparents Sally and James Wilk and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Judy Durkin Craig.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, January 4th, 2024, at 10am at St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William St., Pittston with Fr. Joseph Elston officiating.  Friends may call for visitation on Thursday January 4th from 9am until time of the mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christopher Ryan Bone Memorial Fund, 208 Mary’s Circle, Exeter, PA 18643.
