Stephen “Steve” J. Bryk, 82, of Dupont, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2025.

Born and raised in Dupont, Stephen was the son of the late Lawrence and Mary Klimek Bryk. He was devoted to his faith and a life-long member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Dupont.

He held a number of positions through his decades-long employment before finally retiring as a Vice President. He later accepted a position with Old Forge Bank where he served as a Director of Business Development.

Stephen was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a great lover of the outdoors, enjoying fishing, hunting, camping and hiking. His grandchildren were his pride and joy.  Stephen enjoyed cooking his famous chicken and peppers and “grandpa beans” for his children and grandchildren. While he would never admit it, he loved the snow and faithfully drove up “mile hill” each winter and built many a snowman in his yard with his children and grandchildren over the years. His children and grandchildren will be celebrating this tradition on Thursday and Friday.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jamie “Jim” Kephart; sisters, Mary and Martha Bryk, Anna Bryk Krutulis, and Julia Bryk Stelmack; brothers, Thaddeus, Joseph, John and Walter Bryk; and infant brother, Lawrence.
