Steve Haluschak, 98, of Duryea, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2020 at Highland Manor Nursing Home.

Raised in Taylor, Steve was the son of the late Nicholas Michael and Anastasia Haluschak. Steve was a Navy veteran and worked for Jaunty Textile before retirement. After retirement, Steve worked for the Duryea Borough, selling garbage stickers for many years. He was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Church, Duryea.
Steve was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Loretta and children, Michael Haluschak, Teresa Ramiza Pace and son in law, Frank Ramizaas well as his siblings, Joseph Halchak, John Halchak, Helen Gavlick, Sue Marcyoniak, and Mary Kobeski.
Surviving are his children, Mary Ann Carey and husband Frank of Pittston, Steve Haluschak and wife Rose of El Paso, Texas, Michele Moletsky and husband Brian of Dupont, son-in-law, Tony Pace, Pittston Twp. and daughter-in-law Renee Haluschak, New Mexico; grandchildren Frank Ramiza and wife Cathy, Shannon Kazmerick, Steve Ramiza and wife Maria, Benjamin Pace, Thomas Pace, Kathryn, Camille and Steven Demitri Haluschak; great-grandchildren Gabrielle, Natalie and Francisco Ramiza; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to the VA Home Health team who provided great service to Steve for the last several
years. Thank you to Highland Manor Nursing Home and for all the healthcare workers that cared for Steve in the hospitals during the last two weeks. The family is grateful not only for his care but for the updates and reassurances that were provided.
Private funeral arrangements are entrusted to Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea.
Memorial contributions can be made to Meals on Wheels of Greater Pittston or a charity of the donor’s choice.
