Thomas Robert Lee, 78, of Avoca, passed away peacefully at his home and went to the Lord while surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday October 12th, 2024. He was born in Scranton, May 1st, 1946, and was the son of the late Edward Lee his mother Marie (Balderi) Lee Hallinam and his stepfather Edward Hallinam.
Thomas was a member of Queen of The Apostles Parish Church, Avoca, he was a graduate of Scranton Tech High School, class of 1964. After graduating he joined the US Army having been stationed in Germany for three years during the Vietnam War. Tom retired from the Tobyhanna Army Depot after several years of employment.
Tom served as past Vice Commander of the Minooka American Legion Post 568. He also served as president of the Shamrock Rod and Gun Club in Little Meadows, PA from 1975-2008. Tom was an avid hunter and loved spending time in the outdoors with his sons, he was also an avid history buff that enjoyed reading about it and watching programs related to history. Tom was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents and his stepfather he is preceded in death by his granddaughter Hannah Lee, his sister Veronica Hallinam and brothers Jack, Frank and Edward Lee.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Ruth Ann Brostoski Lee, his sons, Thomas Lee Jr. and his wife Candice, of Scranton and Keith Lee and his wife Ashley, of Copenhagen, NY. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Thomas, MacKenzie, and Marissa Lee.
Tom’s family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and staff of Allied Hospice for their excellent care and compassion they have shown to Thomas and his family.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice in the memory of Thomas Robert Lee.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday October 17th at 10:00am at Queen of The Apostles Parish Church 715 Hawthorne St. Avoca with Fr. Phillip Sladicka officiating. Friends may call for visitation from 9:00am until time of mass. Interment will be held at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Avoca. The AMVETS Honor Guard of Greater Pittston will provide Military honors.
