Walter T. Jones, 69, of Duryea, passed away unexpectedly on June 22, 2020 at the Regional Hospital of Scranton. He was born in Scranton on May 14, 1951 and was the son of the late Reese and Sarah (Snyder) Jones.
Walter was a member of the Brick United Methodist Church, Duryea. He was 1969 graduate of North Pocono High School and attended Kings College, Wilkes-Barre. He worked as an Information Technology Engineer for Mercy Hospital, Marywood University and retired from the Hewlett Packard, Inc.
Walter was a member of many local and regional clubs that involved handgun, rifle sports, and civil defense. He was also an avid HAM radio enthusiast and was active with organizations involving animal rescue. Walter was a very kind and personal man that was always willing to help out in any way that he could. He will be deeply missed by all who knew
and loved him.
Walter is survived by his wife of 33 years, Janice (Yackobovicz) Jones, his brother Robert and his wife Virginia Jones of Moscow, his beloved companion dog “Taffie” and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be privately held and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be held Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, Elmhurst.

Walt was such a great guy. When he worked for HP, he would come down to do a security review with us. We got to know him really well. Such a kind and intelligent soul. You will be sorely missed. My condolences go out to his family. May you find peace in your time of loss.
