John Joseph Miles, 27, of Avoca died on Thursday, September 6th from injuries sustained in an accident on railroad tracks.
He was born in Scranton July 8th, 1991 and was the son of the late Christopher Miles and Agnes and Paul Vermac of Moosic.
John was a graduate of Riverside Jr. Sr. High School. He was employed by Besko Media and loved his job. Johnny was a kind, thoughtful man. Everyone he loved, he did so madly. His heart was so big it couldn’t be contained in his chest. He loved his family, his beautiful fiancé Cassie and his daughter Roslyn with a love so great he could burst. He was the first one in the creek every spring . He loved all music especially Jethro Tull. He was so funny, happy, and moody.
John is also survived by his sister Margaret of Avoca, his brother Peter, Moosic, sister Aggie of Moosic; his nieces, who he loved like his own children, Maggie and Rachel, of Avoca; his grandparents John and Patricia Miles; and Agnes Lavelle. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He will join much of his family in heaven, and will be greeted by his father Chris.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, September 10th at 10:00am at Queen of the Apostles Parish Church, 715 Hawthorne St., Avoca with Fr. Phillip Sladicka officiating. Friends may call on Sunday evening, September 9th from 4pm-7pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church for the mass. There will be no procession from the funeral home. Interment will be held at the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Avoca.
