Margaret T. (Knopp) Ostir

Margaret T. (Knopp) Ostir, 91, of Moosic, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, January 5, 2026.  She was born in Duryea on March 4, 1934, and was the daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret (Walukonis) Knopp.


Margaret was a graduate of Duryea High School.  She worked for many years at JoAnn Fabrics in Avoca before later retiring from her career as a professional limousine driver for the 286 corporation, Taylor and for Gilbride Limousine Service in Pittston.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frank E. Ostir and her brother, Edward Knopp.


She is survived by her daughters, Diane Webb and her husband, Sid, of Greenwood; Nancy Zuchinski and her husband, Anthony, of Duryea; and Linda Ostir of Moosic.  Also surviving are her grandchildren, Richard G. Bowen, Neil Webb, Jill Webb, Frank Zvonchenko and Anthony Zuchinski; and her great grandchildren, Kyle M. Dixon, Madison M. Kelly, Richard and Zach Bowen.


Memorial services were held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery Chapel, Avoca with Fr. Thomas Petro officiating.


Funeral arrangements are made by Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea.

Nancy Diane Linda. An family. I’m so sorry to hear about mom. She was the sweetest lady. Always so nice to me since a little girl. May she rip. 🙏
