Paul Lokuta, 80, of Avoca, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. He was born in Avoca, January 3, 1942, and was the son of the late Michael and Anna Hokien Lokuta.
Paul was a graduate of Avoca High School, class of 1960. He then joined the US Coast Guard and served during the Bay of Pigs Invasion near the southwest coast of Cuba. He worked as a machinist for Midway Tool and Die until its closing and just recently retired from Dupont Tool and Machine Company, Dupont. Paul was a member of the Avoca American Legion Post 1315.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas and Edward Lokuta.
Paul is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Dombroski Lokuta, his son Mark Lokuta and his wife Michelle, of Mt. Top and his daughter Ann Kostiuk and her husband Keith, of Mt. Top. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Ryan Kostiuk and Lauren Lokuta, his sister-in-law Karen Mazonkey and her husband Tony of Shickshinny, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
